The University of Texas Golf Club first opened for play in 2003. The course was designed by Bechtol Russell Golf Inc.
The University of Texas Golf Club was a vision that became a reality when some of today's most influential University supporters set out on a mission to build a permanent home for UT Golf Teams. As of November 2003, The University of Texas Golf Club opened its doors and course to all Members, their guests, and the University of Texas Golf Teams. The course is located in an exclusive gated golf community
The University of Texas Golf Club is a 7,412, par 71 championship-caliber golf course. Built in the Texas Hill Country, the course overlooks Lake Austin and borders the Balcones Natural Wildlife Preserve, offering challenging shots and views that rival the best in Austin.
From its state-of-the-art practice facility and richly appointed clubhouse, to its panoramic hill country setting nestled between Lake Austin and Lake Travis in Steiner Ranch, the club promises a legendary golf experience.

All personal bias/school spirit aside, expect your entire experience at UT Golf Club to be top shelf. It deserves a high ranking and recommendation, but don't take that to mean it won't kick your teeth in. It will. It's private, of course, so you'd have to score an invite. If you get one, take it--and pray to God it's a scramble. If you had to score your own shots here, you'd more than likely be ready to go home crying by the turn.
